Anxiety Disorders (AD)

This is a blanket term that covers many forms of abnormal fear and anxiety: generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, and PTSD. The person may have continuous or occasional symptoms. Major symptoms often include: mental apprehension, physical tension, physical symptoms  and dissociative anxiety, which may include hyperventilation, hypervigilence and a startle reaction.

Anti anxiety medications, behavioral treatments and psychotherapy are the usual treatment for anxiety disorders.
