Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

Is a common chronic disorder characterized by long lasting anxiety that is not focused on any one subject or situation. Because of the nature of the anxiety the person, if not constantly in a state of anxiety, may be worried that she could become anxious at any time. There may or may not be a specific trigger that produces the onset of the anxiety. Generalized anxiety disorder can expand to phobias, and other specific types of fears.
