Social Anxiety Disorder

Social Anxiety Disorder is also known as social phobia and describes an intense fear of negative public scrutiny, public embarrassment, humiliation or social interaction. The fear can be specific to a particular situation or to all social situations.

Usually the person suffers from physical symptoms including blushing, sweating, and difficulty speaking. Individuals will attempt to avoid the source of their anxiety, and in severe cases, this can lead to complete social isolation.
